Toronto police say a man has been charged after a series of alleged unprovoked assaults targeting women at Union Station on Monday morning.

Kevin Thomas Delgado Pina, 23, of no fixed address, was charged with ten counts of assault.

Police added that following his arrest, Pina made allegedly “anti-women comments.”

Authorities are calling the arrest a “hate-motivated assault investigation.”

On Monday, at approximately 8:50 a.m. police responded to several calls for an assault occurring at Union Station. Police allege that a man walking through Union Station approached several female victims and assaulted them without any provocation, resulting in “non-life threatening injuries.”

According to their statement, police located the suspect and arrested him shortly thereafter.

Investigators have released Pina’s photo, believing there could still be additional victims.

“If it is alleged a criminal offence was committed (such as assault or mischief) and it is believed to have been motivated by bias, prejudice or hate, the officer-in-charge may consult with the Crown,” said Constable Ashley Visser of the TPS.

Toronto Police are urging any other women who may have been assaulted or witnessed the incidents to contact investigators.
