A young woman was nearly killed after she was stabbed by a stranger after exiting a bus in Mississauga.
Peel Regional Police are asking for the public’s help in identifying the suspect.
At this time, it is believed that the suspect is not known to the victim and that this was random.
Following extensive video canvassing, investigators have released images of the suspect.
He is described by police as “5’9”, thin build, dark complexion, short dark hair with receding hairline and a full beard. He was wearing black pants, a black North Face coat, black shoes, black sunglasses, a black backpack, a ring on his left hand and white wired headphones.”
According to police, on Saturday, May 10, at approximately 6:20 p.m., a woman exited a transit bus near Ellington Avenue and Hurontario Street in Mississauga and was followed by a suspect who allegedly stabbed her in an unprovoked attack.
The victim was a woman in her twenties, who suffered “near-fatal injuries.”
If seen, members of the public are asked to dial 9-1-1 and not to approach the suspect.
Investigators are asking anyone who was in the vicinity of the incident on May 10, between 6:00 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. who has a dash-cam, or anyone with information to please contact them by calling 905-453-3311 ext. 1233.
