Police charge Harmohinder Singh with alleged sex crimes against child

Peel police arrested and charged 78-year-old Harmohinder Singh with sex crimes against a child under the age of 12. 

Peel Regional Police announced Singh’s arrest on Thursday.  

Singh is accused of approaching a female victim under the age of twelve and allegedly sexually assaulting her multiple times. 

According to police, the alleged crimes occurred in early May 2025 while at the Giffen Family Park near Bramalea Road and Larkspur Road in Brampton, Ontario.

Shortly thereafter, on May 8, police arrested Singh and subsequently charged him with three counts of sexual assault of a minor, along with three more counts of sexual interference.

The accused is being held in custody pending a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton.

According to Peel police, “investigators believe there may be additional victims.” 

They are urging anyone with information on the accused to call the Special Victims Unit at 905-453-2121 extension 3460.
